CUFE Business School launched thecareer pilot course sessions for freshman

October to November 2021, the Career Development Centre of CUFE Business School invited Professor Su Wenping, an expert in career planning, to deliver the career pilot course sessions for the 2021 freshmen, aiming to help students in their career planning and development.

The undergraduate session included 3 courses, the topics were Self-cognition, Professional career exploration and Career decision-making. The session for postgraduate students wasFinding career goals and life routes.

  

My “Self-portrait”: Self-cognition

  

13 October, Professor Su Wenping delivered the “Career Development and Interests”, leading the students to understand themselves, remind them to participate in practical activities, improve their competencies, and step out of the misunderstanding of professional and career choice.

Exploring yourself: Professional career exploration

  

27 October, Professor Su Wenping analyzed the cases according to Holland’s types of professional interests, leading to the relationship between the type of professional interests and the profession.

Professor Su Wenping suggested that students would read cases, find the common principles in the cases, and explore their own development direction.

  

Finding career goals: Career decisions

  

3 November, Professor Su Wenping took high-payment industries as examples to help students to have a more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of the salary market. Professor Su Wenping introduced the way to find quality jobs, emphasizing that students should development flexible abilities to avoid the risk of being replaced by information technology in the Internet era.

Career goals and paths: the postgraduate career planning pilot course

  

27 October, Professor Su Wenping answered questions of the new postgraduate students based on the detailed data in the career development survey. Later, Professor Su Wenping analyzed the qualities and skills valued in the human resources market and the main factors affecting job hunting success of graduates, and invited student representatives to share their career experience.

Professor Su Wenping, starting from the 3 facets, character, interests and values, guided the students to see the essence through the appearance, find their inner characteristics and true demands, and hoped that the students would develop better themselves and perform well in their future careers.
