The Business School Successfully Holds the Government-sponsored Research Project Application Exchange Meeting and the 2025 Government-sponsored Research Project Application Kick-off Meeting
On the afternoon of October 30, 2024, the Business School held the Government-sponsored Research Project Application Exchange Meeting and 2025 Government-sponsored Research Project Application Kick-off Meeting at Conference A02, MBA Education Center. Professor Liang Shangkun, deputy director of the Research Office of the Business School, Professor Cui Xinjian from the Marketing Department of the Business School, Professor Gao Yongling from the Supply Chain and Operation Management Department, and Liu Zixu, a postdoctoral fellow of the Strategy Department, were invited to attend this meeting as the guest speakers, while Li Zhe, deputy director of the Finance Office, as well as more than 20 teachers and students from inside and outside of the Business School attended this meeting, which was presided over by Professor Liu Xiaoyuan, deputy dean of the Business School.
Meeting Venue
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Lin Song, dean of the Business School and director of the MBA Education Center, delivered a speech. He expressed his sincere gratitude to deputy director Liang Shangkun for his guidance and to teachers inside and outside the school for their participation. Professor Lin Song introduced the Business School’s project application and project establishment in recent years, and analyzed the existing problems and challenges. He hoped that this exchange meeting would provide effective guidance for teachers in the school to apply for projects, and wished the teachers greater success in future project applications.
Deputy Director Liang Shangkun first introduced the overall situation of scientific research project application and project establishment of our school, and then shared his viewpoints in depth from the perspective of our school’s scientific research management system and business processing procedures for scientific research projects. Besides, he exchanged the precautions for project application and put forward the corresponding opinions and suggestions in combination with his experience in project application and project review.
Deputy Director Liang Shangkun Introduced the Establishment and Application of the School’s Scientific Research Projects
Professor Cui Xinjian from the Department of Marketing, Professor Gao Yongling from the Department of Supply Chain and Operation Management, and Liu Ziluan, a postdoctoral fellow from the Department of Strategy of the Business School, shared their experience in project application in turn. Professor Cui Xinjian shared his views on the topic of "Suggestions for Application of Government-sponsored Research Projects". He suggested that the research topic of a project should have a focus and that the researcher should be good at summarizing problems from the comments of the reviewer, revise and improve the project application gradually, pay attention to the requirements and details of the project application, and treat the results of the project review in an objective way. Professor Gao Yongling exchanged her experiences of application for two National Social Science Fund projects, and she thought that the topic of a research project should be novel and practical and that the researcher should focus on major national policies and actual concerns of enterprises and put forward suggestions from the perspective of argumentation, research basis and writing of project applications. Liu Zixu shared her skills in writing applications for Natural Science Foundation of China - Youth Projects. She believes that the researcher should learn from successful project applications in the past, and seek advice from experienced teachers and refine the applications repeatedly. In the interactive communication session, multiple attending teachers asked questions with regard to the problems encountered during their project application, and the sharing guests provided serious answers and communicated with the attending teachers.

Finally, Professor Liu Xiaoyuan summarized this project application exchange meeting. He pointed out that the project application experience exchange meeting could help teachers and students in the school deepen their understanding of the project application and evaluation process, effectively answer teachers' doubts in project application, and wish teachers success in the application for government-sponsored research projects in 2025.
