Abstract:This seminar report on the past20 years’ research about the industrial system of the Cambridge ManufacturingResearch Institute, revealing that the current industrial system and operationmode can no longer provide the basis for developing countries to develop, andcontinuing to implement the current industrial development model will lead tothe collapse of the earth and the demise of mankind! However, research by theCambridge Manufacturing Research Institute have also shown that a newindustrial system is emerging, and different prospective, strategies, demands, and technologies are being used to address the challenge from the old industrialsystem. These sprouting industrial systems and their ecosystems not only giveus a huge new space for research, but also enable Chinese manufacturing to openup a new industrialization path and achieve sustainable development. Theacademic community should integrate existing but scattered theoreticalknowledge and technical to creatively form a new industrial development theorysystem.

The IE3second-party conceptual framework that we are going to discuss in the seminaris a preliminary exploration of this industrial development theory system. Itis a new model based on three theoretical research fields. The IE3 second-partyconceptual framework includes three aspects: first, the process of resourcegradient development and value creation based on resource view theory, second, the classic industrial ecology theory, and the method system of cleanproduction and industrial symbiosis, third, dynamic business ecosystem theory.
