Abstract: Learningis fundamental to entrepreneurship. Using the theoretical perspective ofself-regulation, we develop and test a model suggesting that contingency ofself-worth (CSW) influences to what extent proactive behaviors translate intolearning. We further posit the amount of learning matters for new ventureprogress. We tested our theoretical model in 2 studies of entrepreneurs withone base line measurement and eight repeated measurements of 491 and 571observations respectively. The results support the model and contribute to ourunderstanding of the antecedents and consequences of entrepreneurial learning.
