Curriculum Vitae Prof. Dr. Raimund Wildner
Managing Director and Vice President of GfK Verein, Nuremberg, Germany
After his exam in economics, Prof. Dr. Raimund Wildner was assistant at the Chair
for Statistics in Nuremberg. In 1984 he got his doctoral degree for a thesis in Factor
Analysis. Since 1984 he has held different positions at the market research company
GfK, before he was charged in 1988 to build up the Department of Method and
Product Development which he managed until end of 2009.
Furthermore, since 1996 he is Managing Director of GfK Verein and since 2005 in
addition a member of the Board of GfK Verein. From 2004 until 2010 he was
additionally the data protection officer of the German GfK Group.
He is the author of a large number of publications concerning methodical questions
of marketing research and co-author auf the books “Panels in der Marktforschung”
(“Panels in Marketing research”) and “Marktforschung” (“Market Research”).
He is a honorary professor and a lecturer at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and a
member of the Board of the German market research association BVM. Furthermore
he is the deputy head of the Professional Standards Committee of ESOMAR and a
trustee of the American Marketing Science Institute.
In 1998, a paper on price research made him win the ESOMAR award for the “Best
Methodological paper.” In 2007 he was nominated as the “Market Research
Personality of the Year”. In 2013 he won the “ARF Great Minds Award”.
