    May 23 2014, “The First (2014) Business Big Data Doctoral Forum” was held in the Ali Baba Auditorium, Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, hosted by the Department of Business Statistics and Economic Metrology and Business Intelligence Research Centre. Scholars from universities such as Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, Nankai University, Central University of Finance and Economics and practical experts from companies such as Ministry of Technology Business in CIC, WQuant, Quant Tech, etc participated in the forum. Associate professor Li Ji from the Department of Marketing, Business School, CUFE and academic graduate students Li Shiqiang and Zhang Shuai were invited.

    The forum includes four topics: Text Mining, Theoretical Frontiers, Mobile Internet and Finance Statistics, which covers different aspects of finance, statistics, marketing and management. Several excellent doctoral students and industry experts were invited to give lectures on each topic, and they discussed big data analysis and business application issues.

    During the meeting, Professor Li, Li Shiqiang and Zhang Shuai exchanged ideas with experts from other universities and industry delegates, on text segmentation, data mining and the applications of data model in social media research.
