November 26, 2025, a delegation of faculty members and students from CUFE Business School visited Beijing Tianchi Juntai Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as “Tianchi Juntai”). The delegation included Yang Zhongying, Deputy Director of Business School Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CUFE Business School; Kong Weiming, Administrative Director of the MBA Education Center and Director of the Student Affairs Office; Dr. Gao Zhennan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Financial Management; Zeng Gongxing from the MBA Student Affairs Office; and nearly 20 student representatives from the Business Administration–Law Double Bachelor’s Degree Program. The exchange event was organized under the leadership of Rao Wei, Senior Partner of Tianchi Juntai, with the participation of Senior Partner Zhang Kun and attorneys Zhang Zhiyi, Jiang Jiahui, Tian Ye, and Huang Ziyuan. Several CUFE MBA alumni were also specially invited to join the discussion with faculty and students, creating a strong platform for university–enterprise interaction.

After the event began, the visiting delegation first toured the office area of Tianchi Juntai Law Firm, where they gained a detailed understanding of the firm’s honor system and cultural development, allowing students to experience firsthand the daily working environment of legal professionals.

Subsequently, the exchange seminar was formally held in the conference room. Rao Wei extended a warm welcome to the visiting faculty and students and provided a comprehensive introduction to Tianchi Juntai’s development history and business areas. Zhang Kun noted that teaching should be closely integrated with practice and encouraged students to “observe more, travel more, and experience more,” so as to develop a deeper understanding of legal and business rules through real-world engagement. He emphasized that talents with interdisciplinary knowledge structures are able not only to identify legal risks in business operations but also to utilize legal tools to create business value, which gives them significant advantages in future career development.

Yang Zhongying, on behalf of CUFE Business School, expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception by Tianchi Juntai and elaborated on the School’s educational philosophy and future directions for collaboration. She noted that CUFE has launched the Business Administration–Law Double Degree Program for the first time with the aim of cultivating interdisciplinary talents who possess both business acumen and legal literacy. This visit provided first-year students with a valuable “first lesson” in understanding the integration of law and business. She also expressed expectations for deeper collaboration with alumni in the future, including the joint establishment of internship and practice bases as well as the development of courses and research projects, thereby closely integrating legal thinking with business perspectives to ultimately achieve resource sharing and complementary strengths.

Ma Xiaojing, a specially invited guest from an investment institution and a CUFE MBA alumna, shared practical advice based on her professional experience. She pointed out that an interdisciplinary background combining business administration and law has strong versatility. In addition to obtaining professional qualifications such as the CPA and the Legal Professional Qualification Certificate, students should develop a deep understanding of the operational logic of a specific industry and cultivate a macro-level perspective that enables them to “look beyond one’s own discipline.” Through continuous learning and accumulation, they will be better equipped to exercise sound judgment in future professional practice.
During the subsequent professional sharing session, four Tianchi Juntai attorneys who graduated from CUFE integrated abstract theories of law and business with concrete cases from their respective professional fields, providing students with a series of accessible and insightful practical analyses. Attorney Huang Ziyuan delivered a presentation titled “Improper Online Speech: Liability Determination and Rights Protection Practices,” beginning with online scenarios closely related to student life and systematically analyzing the legal liabilities and rights protection pathways that may arise from improper speech. Attorney Tian Ye presented “Core Interpretation of Article 15(1) of the Regulations on Work-Related Injury Insurance: Focusing on ‘Death after 48 Hours of Unsuccessful Emergency Treatment,’” examining common disputes in the determination of work-related injuries and providing an in-depth explanation of the internal logic and application standards of four key elements: working hours, workplace, sudden illness, and immediate transfer for emergency medical treatment. Attorney Jiang Jiahui presented “How to Establish a Valid Will,” discussing common needs for property succession in daily life and explaining the formal requirements, substantive conditions, and common misconceptions associated with wills, thereby helping students develop sound awareness of property planning and legal risk prevention. Attorney Zhang Zhiyi presented “The Legal-Business Dynamics in Rental Contracts,” analyzing the rental scenarios commonly encountered by graduates and offering a detailed examination of key issues such as contract review, risk prevention, and rights protection, while further explaining how to realize the extended value of contracts.

The event concluded with a question-and-answer and summary session. Drawing on their own learning challenges and career plans, the faculty members and students actively asked questions about cutting-edge developments such as the competency requirements and professional advantages of interdisciplinary talent, the impact of AI on the legal industry, and the application of judgment documentation networks. The invited guests patiently responded to these questions, offering highly targeted advice for students’ academic development and career planning.

Yang Zhongying then delivered concluding remarks, encouraging students to continuously strengthen their professional foundations and actively enhance practical abilities. She reiterated the importance of collaborative talent cultivation between universities and law firms and proposed further cooperation with Tianchi Juntai in areas such as jointly establishing internship bases, co-developing practice-oriented courses, and institutionalizing alumni sharing sessions. Finally, Rao Wei expressed his sincere expectation for deeper cooperation between the law firm and the University in the future to jointly cultivate outstanding legal professionals, bringing the event to a successful conclusion.
This exchange visit not only represents Tianchi Juntai’s concrete effort to fulfill its social responsibility and support the cultivation of legal talents, but also serves as a vivid example of resource sharing and complementary advantages between the law firm and the university. In the future, Tianchi Juntai will continue to uphold a philosophy of openness and collaboration, deepen its linkage mechanisms with universities, and contribute its professional expertise to the cultivation of more high-quality interdisciplinary legal talents.
