The national finals of the 10th China University Students Human Resource Innovation and Practice Competition (HRU) concluded successfully at China University of Labor Relations. As one of the top competitions in the field of human resources in China, the national finals brought together leading teams from different regional divisions to compete on the same stage.
CUFE Business School organized a 19-member competition team led by faculty members Ji Yueting and Ji Xiaode from the Department of Organization and Human Resources Management, with Xiao Yue from the Class of HRM 2023 serving as the student team leader. The team participated in all core tracks of the competition, including Practical Design, Labor Dispute Resolution, HR + Going Global, Case Analysis, and HR + AI. With outstanding performance, the team ultimately won the Team Grand Prize. In addition, the team achieved remarkable results across the ten core tracks, securing four Individual Grand Prizes, two Individual First Prizes, and four Individual Second Prizes, demonstrating the professional excellence of CUFE students in the field.
The China University Students Human Resource Innovation and Practice Competition (HRU) is an authoritative competition included in the Observation List of the National University Student Discipline Competition Catalog issued by the China Association of Higher Education. The competition has been successfully held for ten consecutive editions, involving more than 500 universities and over 80,000 participating students, with a cumulative influence reaching more than 300,000 faculty members and students. The competition focuses on cutting-edge trends and practical needs in the human resources industry, introducing real enterprise scenarios and frontier industry topics. The judging panel consists of senior HR executives from leading enterprises nationwide, experienced legal experts, and renowned scholars, providing a comprehensive evaluation of participants’ professional competence, practical ability, and innovative thinking.


With strong support from the University and the School, a faculty advisory team composed of Lin Lin, Liu Wei, Ji Yueting, Ji Xiaode, and Zuo Yuhan provided full-process guidance for the participating students, from competition analysis, solution refinement to mock defense sessions, comprehensively empowering the contestants. Building on their excellent performance in the regional competition, the students actively prepared for the national finals. Facing strong competitors from top universities across the country and more challenging topics, they integrated expertise from fields such as organizational behavior and digital human resource management, focusing on frontier issues including cross-border human resource management and AI-empowered HR. Through repeated simulations and bold innovation, the team ultimately achieved outstanding results: four Individual Grand Prizes in the tracks of Labor Dispute Resolution, HR + Going Global, Case Analysis, and Enterprise Labor Dispute Mediation (HR Role); two Individual First Prizes in the tracks of Practical Design and Enterprise Labor Dispute Mediation (Mediator Role); and four Individual Second Prizes in four additional tracks including Leaderless Group Discussion. With their comprehensive and excellent performance, the team won the Team Grand Prize at the national finals, fully demonstrating the educational achievements of CUFE's principle of “integrating knowledge with action” and the students' spirit of “nurturing virtue and seeking knowledge, managing the economy and serving the times.”

The remarkable achievements in the national finals are not only the best reward for the dedication and hard work of the participating team but also a vivid testament to the teaching quality and talent cultivation model of the Human Resource Management program at CUFE Business School. By competing directly with top teams nationwide and tackling cutting-edge industry challenges, the students not only deepened their understanding of the core value of human resource management but also honed interdisciplinary thinking, collaboration skills, and innovative awareness through real-world practice, thereby clarifying the direction for their academic development and career paths.
