Our University Holds the "Technology + Business" Frontier Forum and the Unveiling Ceremony of the School of Technology and Business

On May 31, the "Technology + Business" Frontier Forum themed Business Discipline Development for the Integration of Technology and Commerce, alongside the unveiling ceremony of the School of Technology and Business of Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), was held in Lecture Hall 202 of the Academic Auditorium. Centering on key topics including the in-depth integration of technology and business as well as the transformation and upgrading of business education, the forum carried out in-depth discussions to fuel the high-quality development of business education in the new era. Yang Ying, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, presided over the opening ceremony.

In his address, President Ma Haitao stated that the global landscape of technological competition is undergoing profound restructuring. The commercialization of scientific and technological achievements serves as a crucial link in developing new productive forces, making the establishment of the School of Technology and Business an inevitable task for universities amid the current era. The university regards the development of the new school as a strategic initiative to advance the transformation and upgrading of traditional business administration disciplines and seize the commanding heights of future business education, and will offer full support in discipline development, talent recruitment and resource allocation. He put forward three expectations for the school: first, to pioneer the development of China’s independent knowledge system and build a theoretical framework with Chinese characteristics and CUFE features; second, to lead the cultivation of interdisciplinary innovative talents and forge a distinctive brand for CUFE Technology MBA programs; third, to act as a think tank serving national strategies and deliver high-quality intellectual support for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and the growth of the technology industry.

Yue Li, Deputy Director of the Haidian District Party Committee of Beijing, extended congratulations on the founding of the School of Technology and Business. He noted that as the core area of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, Haidian District is fully committed to smoothing the whole chain from original innovation to the generation of new productive forces. The launch of the school is not only a proactive response to national strategies, but also an effective solution to problems such as talent shortages and information asymmetry hindering the commercialization of technological achievements. He expressed the hope that the school would further explore the integrated development of technology and business and cultivate more interdisciplinary talents for technology transformation. Haidian District will continue to provide solid services and guarantee and deepen university-district cooperation.

Zhao Shiwei, Deputy Director of the Administration Committee of Beijing Future Science Park and Vice District Chief of Changping District, remarked that Changping District, a key carrier for building Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, boasts abundant resources in education, science and talents. As a major university located in Changping, CUFE has long been deeply engaged in regional economic development. The positioning of the new school aligns closely with Changping’s industrial layout. Changping District will keep supporting the university’s development, build platforms for university-enterprise cooperation, and help the school become a new benchmark for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

During the forum, the official unveiling of the School of Technology and Business of Central University of Finance and Economics took place.

During the keynote speeches, Li Jianjun, Vice President of the university, stated that the School of Technology and Business should establish a three-dimensional training system integrating technology, management and ethics, to cultivate interdisciplinary managerial talents who can master technologies and lead industrial development for the country.Ye Qiang, Executive Dean of the School of Technology and Business and School of Management, University of Science and Technology of China, shared the university’s experience in launching the undergraduate program of Business Artificial Intelligence. He stressed that artificial intelligence will empower business education, and a broad-spectrum talent training model should be developed for the future.Hong Tao, Co-Dean of the AI Business School of Beijing Zhongguancun Institute, pointed out that AI has evolved from merely boosting efficiency to reshaping decision-making. An enterprise’s core competitiveness now lies in its capability to leverage AI for better decision-making.Lin Song, Dean of the Business School and the School of Technology and Business, introduced the school’s initial progress in talent cultivation and the development of China’s independent knowledge system.Jiao Hao, Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management, School of Economics and Business Administration, Beijing Normal University, shared his insights on constructing indigenous Chinese management theories through case studies.

In the afternoon, the National First-Class Undergraduate Program Development Forum was held. Representatives from various universities conducted in-depth exchanges on the digital and intelligent transformation of business administration programs, as well as challenges in talent cultivation and development.The subsequent Journal Roundtable Forum gathered experts from well-known domestic business journals. They discussed the cutting-edge trends of business research amid the in-depth integration of technology and commerce, and offered practical advice on topic selection and paper submission for participating scholars.

This forum was guided by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, hosted by our University's Business School and School of Technology and Business, and co-organized by CUFE Asset Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd.
