内容简介：Extant theory explaining the performance of family firms has typically focused on differences between family firms and non-family firms. Considerable research in this tradition has demonstrated that family managers differ from non-family managers. The strategic leadership of family firms, however, varies in terms of the specific family relationships represented at each firm. However, little theory exists which explains how alternative family relationship combinations impact organizational performance. Using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis and a sample of Chinese IPO firms, we conduct an exploratory study to identify configurations of family relationships that, when present among a firm’s strategic leaders, combined with specific corporate governance arrangements to produce superior firm performance. From our results, we are able to generate three testable theoretical propositions regarding such configurations. We present these findings and propositions in order to prompt deeper scholarship and investigation into the rich impact that families can have on the strategic management of the firm.

 中国人民大学商学院企业管理专业博士研究生，2014.09-2015.06 以访问学者身份在美国德克萨斯基督教大学从事科研活动。博士期间的研究领域涉及家族企业、公司治理、制度以及非正式经济。研究成果发表在《中国工业经济》等期刊，同时担任《Journal of Management Studies》、《Corporate Governance: An International Review》等SSCI期刊审稿专家。
